A Discovery of Secrets and Fate (Chronicles of the Stone Veil, #2) is NOW LIVE!

About A Discovery of Secrets and Fate:

Life as I knew it ended the day I accepted my fate.

In its place is an existence even the wildest imagination could never fathom. Strange creatures walk among us, plotting our demise, and I’ve come to find that the fate of our world rests squarely on my shoulders. We’re all in danger and I’m trying to figure out how to make it through each day.

The key to my survival is a man I can’t figure out. As dangerous as the darkest fae, I have no choice but to work with him to stop the prophecy that’s foretold to be the ruination of mankind.

Carrick Byrne continues to be my only source of information, but he doles it out as he sees fit. He intrigues and scares me in equal measure, yet I can’t help but be attracted to him. And the more I discover about him, the more it becomes clear he feels the same.

As we travel to Faere in search of answers, we find that every piece of information leads to more questions, that every question leads to a new piece of the puzzle, and that, most importantly, no one can be trusted.

The more secrets we uncover, one thing is certain— if we have any chance of saving the world, we have to do it together.

A Discovery of Secrets and Fate is book two of the Chronicles of the Stone Veil series and is best enjoyed if read in series order.

“5- All is not as it seems, stars!”

This is the second book in the “Chronicles of the Stone Veil” pentalogy, and I have to say that I’m really enjoying this series.

In A Discovery of Secrets and Fate there is more emphasis on character development and world-building.
Carrick and Finley are set to travel to Faere, and the author did a wonderful job of describing the land the Queen of the Light Fae has created, and the dynamics of their society.

The story’s writing was well-paced and we soon discover what Carrick is, and his true reason for helping Finley. We also learn the reason as to why Finley is so special.

The author is giving the reader the right amount of information to keep them engaged, but also not enough to have them surmise what will happen next.

I like where the author is going with Carrick and Finley’s characters.

I’m intrigued to find out what happens next because this book too, ended with a cliff-hanger.

This was a wonderful read and I’m anxious to read the next book in the series!

“I voluntarily read an ARC of this book which was provided by the author and InkslingerPR in exchange for an honest review.”

Happy Book Birthday!

Eye Candy (Fighting for Love Book 3) by Jiffy Kate is now available!

Eye Candy, an all-new opposites attract small-town romance from Jiffy Kate, is LIVE EARLY on AppleBooks, Nook, Kobo, and GooglePlay!

Synopsis

Vali Erickson is the classic middle child—misunderstood, underestimated, and overlooked. He’s fine with it. Really. The overlooked part is actually serving him well during this phase of life.

He’s in Green Valley in an effort to fly under the radar and regroup after a life-altering blow to his heart and ego. The last thing he’s looking for is a woman to warm his bed until one throws him to the mat and rocks his world.

Margaret O’Neal is an only child who has led a sheltered life. She’s used to being a wallflower. Her ability to blend into the background is what allows her to maintain her anonymity as a gossip columnist for the Green Valley Ledger.

Since the Ericksons moved to town, she’s never felt more inspired, especially with the newest addition. Vali Erickson is the definition of eye candy—devastatingly handsome with muscles for days—giving her plenty to report about.

The more Maggie observes, the more she finds herself wanting things she’s only read about in romance novels.

Admiring Vali from afar is good enough for her until their paths cross and she finds herself trying to stay afloat in uncharted territory—no labels, no promises, and WAY out of her comfort zone.

Will this arrangement be what finally breaks her out of her shell, or will her heart be a casualty of the Viking Invasion?

‘Eye Candy’ is a full-length contemporary romance, and can be read as a standalone. Book #3 in the Fighting For Love series, Green Valley Chronicles, Penny Reid Book Universe.

5- I didn’t see her coming, I wasn’t expecting to find her.
But, Dear God, I’m glad I did – Stars!” – Vali Erickson

“Greeting, Good People of Green Valley.” – Trixie and Tess, Green Valley Ledger

Margaret O’Neal has a secret. She’s the voice behind “The Green Valley Ledgers” gossip and advice column. Nobody knows her secret but two people. Her editor, Sarah, and her pen pal and confidant, Everly.
Margaret would also say that she suffers from a “lack of social interaction” because her parents were older when they had her.
She was homeschooled.
She went to college through online courses.
She works and has always worked for her parents – O’Neil Feed and Fodder Store, and she still lives at home with her parents.
Writing her weekly column for the “Green Valley Ledger” allows her to transform from Maggie O’Neal, feed store employee, to Maggie O’Neal, a writer, and columnist.
It’s through Maggie’s column that she’s able to tell the good people of Green Valley about the ”Viking Invasion”, and that there’s a new addition to Viking MMA -Vali Erickson.

Vali Erickson’s reason for coming to Green Valley is to get away.
He was betrayed in the most brutal of ways.
He’s hurt, heartbroken, and has come to his brother’s MMA gym to get away, lick his wounds, ground himself, and learn to move on.

As fate would have it, Maggie and Vali end up getting to know one another.
They agree to have a relationship “with no labels” because Vali doesn’t know how long he’ll be staying in Green Valley, and he wants to be upfront with Maggie that his move there was never meant to be permanent.
Their chemistry is off the charts.
Vali is Maggie’s everything firsts.
First relationship.
First time travelling outside of Green Valley.
First Love.

This is a wonderful story of Vali learning to trust and love, and Maggie learning to get off the sidelines of life and follow her dreams.
When she does, she soars.

I just want to say that this is my MOST favourite story yet in the series!
I totally fell for Vali and Maggie.
Vali Erickson if f#@*ing Perfect, and I LOVED, LOVED Margaret (Maggie, Mags) O’Neil’s character!

Amazing read and a wonderful addition to the “Fighting for Love” series!

“4- Games bring people together, and those people can become your friends, and your friends can become your chosen family.” Stars!
-Maximus_Damage

This was a good enemy-to-lovers story by debut author Ann Whynot, but what was most inspiring about the story was how the author addressed the issue of mental illness particularly bipolar disorder and anxiety.
It was incredible seeing things through Jonathan’s eyes. How he was feeling and how he reacted to stressful situations and realizing that having a mental illness doesn’t make you weak.
Maxine was also a wonderful character to meet.
It was great reading her transformation to a confident, secure, intelligent, strong woman.
Her relationship with Johnathan was wonderful (once she stopped hating him).

I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more books by this author.

THE REVELATION OF LIGHT AND DARK by Sawyer Bennett

From New York Times Bestselling Author Sawyer Bennett comes the Chronicles of the Stone Veil, a five book urban fantasy/paranormal romance series.

A departure from contemporary romance, the Chronicles of the Stone Veil is a return to fantasy/paranormal romance, where Sawyer started her fiction publishing journey. Readers can expect to find all the elements they love from Sawyer’s books—strong heroines, alpha heroes, and an epic romance—with a fantastical element to add to their reading experience.

About The Revelation of Light and Dark:

I always knew I was different.

From a young age, my mind has been plagued with things only I could see. Some hauntingly beautiful, others completely terrifying. Never knowing if these visions were real or just hallucinations, I learned how to lock them down and ignore them. I learned to take solace in the relative anonymity of city life and find peace in the rainy days my city of Seattle is known for.

But just when I think my life is getting on track and my dreams are achievable, a moment of weakness causes me to learn a hard and fast lesson.

My entire existence has been a lie.

Now I’m faced with a new reality that’s as implausible as it is fantastical. Filled with realms and veils, light and dark, fae and daemons, gods and angels—things I don’t understand but am forced to acknowledge. It doesn’t help that the man teaching me about my unique gifts is the gorgeously handsome Carrick Byrne, one of Seattle’s richest and most powerful men. He intimidates, annoys, and intrigues me all at the same time. I don’t trust him and yet there’s no one else to help me.

No longer certain who to put my faith in, what to believe, or how I fit into it all, one revelation is clear…

The world as I know it will never be the same again.

The Revelation of Light and Dark is book one of the Chronicles of the Stone Veil series and is best enjoyed if read in series order.

The journey begins now.

What an amazing story!
I literally devoured this book in one sitting today.

I knew…KNEW that the first four three books were going to end in cliffhangers, I was warned about it when I requested the ARC, and I mentally prepared myself for it before starting this book.
But man! I really want the second book, like NOW!

I love Finley and Carrick’s hate/like relationship.
I love the world that Sawyer Bennett has created.
Her spin of the origins of Light and Dark Fae, and Daemons and the role they play in this world is creative and wonderful.
And what exactly is Finley’s purpose?

The writing, storyline, and fantastical characters are amazing.

This was a wonderful read for me, and exactly what I needed to read today.
Like I said above, I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, and I look forward to reading what happens next in Finley and Carrick’s adventure!

Steal My Magnolia by Karla Sorenson is NOW AVAILABLE!

Steal My Magnolia is more than a love story. It’s a beautifully crafted journey of life full of obstacles but a journey worth the travel with the right person.” –Author Andrea Johnston

Steal My Magnolia, an all-new heartwarming small-town romance from Karla Sorensen, is now available in Kindle Unlimited!

About Steal My Magnolia

Life lesson from Grady Buchanan: If you’re going to fall in love with the untouchable girl in town, don’t hire her as your only employee.

Even after he bungled the interview with Magnolia MacIntyre, he knew better than to hire her. The list of why it’s a bad idea is a long one.

Her father could ruin his fledgling business.

She is completely overqualified.

And he’s attracted to her.

What does Grady do? He offers her the job.

Magnolia knew better than to take it. Normally, she’d make the safe choice, and working for Grady is anything but.

He’s new in town–and entirely too charming.

Her dad will be furious.

She hates the outdoors and working for an outdoor adventure company is not exactly the right fit.

What does she do? She says yes on the spot.

Grady and Magnolia will have to prove to everyone in their life that they’re not crazy. And prove to each other that the list of why it’s a bad idea should be tossed out the window.

For these two opposites, sometimes doing the wrong thing is exactly right.

‘Steal My Magnolia’ is a full-length contemporary romance and can be read as a standalone. Book #3 in the Love At First Sight series, Green Valley Chronicles, Penny Reid Book Universe.

Steal My Magnolia by Karla Sorensen

Welcome back to Green Valley in Penny Reid’s Book Universe!

This is the third book in the “Love at First Sight” series written by Karla Sorensen.

Once again we revisit the Buchanan family curse, where when a member of the Buchanan family meets their “ONE” (in Green Valley) it’s love at first sight and for life.

Let me start by saying that this book can be read as a standalone, but the reader would definitely benefit from reading the previous book in the series Batter of Wits because the main character in this book is the previous books main characters, twin brother Grady.

What makes this story so good and engaging is that Grady’s “ONE” is the one person who would make his life complicated, weird, and awkward.
Magnolia MacIntyre, Tucker’s ex-fiance, the one he broke up with to be with Grady’s twin sister Grace.

I really liked the characters in this story.
Grady and Magnolia circle one another throughout the story, which builds their chemistry and attraction to one another.
That being said, this is a slooooooow burn.
I really love slow-burn romance especially when it’s well written and the author builds the couple’s relationship until the anticipation of them finally getting together is so worth the wait.

The reason I’m only giving this book a 4-star instead of a 5-star is because I thought the ending was kinda anti-climatic.

Yes, there’s a happy ending, but I was kinda expecting more raw passion when Grady and Magnolia are finally…FINALLY on the same page in their relationship.

Good story, and a great addition to the “Love at First Sight” series.

About Karla Sorensen

Karla Sorensen has been an avid reader her entire life, preferring stories with a happily-ever-after over just about any other kind. And considering she has an entire line item in her budget for books, she realized it might just be cheaper to write her own stories. It doesn’t take much to keep her happy…a book, a really big glass of wine, and at least thirty minutes of complete silence every day. She still keeps her toes in the world of health care marketing, where she made her living pre-babies. Now she stays home, writing and mommy-ing full time (this translates to almost every day being a ‘pajama day’ at the Sorensen household…don’t judge). She lives in West Michigan with her husband, two exceptionally adorable sons and big, shaggy rescue dog.

Welcome back to Weight Expectations, where the unexpected is likely to happen.

Cutie and the Beast, an all-new hilarious romantic standalone from M.E. Carter, is LIVE!

Synopsis

Living with her mother seemed like a good idea at the time. But Elliott Donovan’s living arrangements are not working for her anymore. Desperate to get back on her financial feet after a divorce and out from under her mother’s thumb, Elliott takes a job in the child care center at Weight Expectations, a local gym.

It has everything she needs – family friendly hours, more pay than she expected, and a super cute trainer who just happens to have part of his house for rent.

Abel DiSoto was living the good life until his wife walked out taking half of the family income with her. The blow to his ego was bad enough, but after a fire at the gym scattered Abel’s clients, and consequently his commissions, he’s stuck figuring out how to make ends meet, too. Renting out the master suite of his house to his new co-worker seems like an easy solution. They’re both mature adults, they both have eight-year-old daughters, and their work schedules coordinate so they can lend each other a helping hand to ease the burden of single parenthood.

The only downside? Living like a blended family when you’re not actually a family can present some challenges.

Welcome back to Weight Expectations, where the unexpected is likely to happen.

“5- It takes a Village to Raise a Child, Stars!

This was a wonderfully written contemporary romance about two single parents who are from totally different backgrounds. They would not have met under normal circumstances but as “fate” would have it, they are introduced to one another by a co-worker and come to a decision that they might be able to help one another out.

These characters Able (Beast) and Elliott (Cutie) are doing their best to raise their daughters while trying to deal with all the challenges that come with being a single parent.

Elliott needs a new place to stay, and Able needs a roommate to help with his mortgage since he lost a lot of his clients because of a fire.
What makes this decision even sweeter is that both their daughters go to the same school, are the same age, and are in the same class.

Able thought that when Elliott moved in that they simply would be roommates and cross paths every once in a while. It never occurred to him that their lives would quickly be intertwined because they soon both realized they needed one another because parenting is hard.

What started out as Able and Elliott loving and respecting each other as friends, gradually turns into them falling in love with one another.

This book was a beautiful story to read not only for the slow-burn romance but because the author did a wonderful job of showing the complexity of navigating the situations of a blended family.

Kudos M.E. Carter!

My name is M.E. Carter and I have no idea how I ended up writing books. I’m more of a storyteller (the more exaggerated the better) and I happen to know people who helped me get those stories on paper. I love reading (read almost 200 books last year), hate working out (but I do it anyway because my trainer makes me), love food (but hate what it does to my butt) and love travelling to non-touristy places most people never see. I live in Houston with my four kids, Mary, Elizabeth, Carter and Bug, who was just a twinkle in my eye when I came up with my pen name. Yeah, I’ll probably have to pay for his therapy someday for being left out.

“I was all in with this slow burn romance that had me laughing and swooning from cover to cover” –Author Andrea Johnston

Beef Cake, an all-new small town contemporary romance from Jiffy Kate, is LIVE!

Synopsis

If opposites do actually attract, then Gunnar Erickson and Frankie Reeves take the cake.

Frankie Reeves is complicated, even though she won’t admit it. She fills her days working as an ER nurse, taking care of her mom, and searching for the father she never knew. Anything else has no place in her perfectly compartmentalized, purposefully simple life. Attachments? No thank you. She has no time for that.

Gunnar Erickson recently moved to Green Valley to train at Viking MMA with his brother Cage. Being the youngest of the Erickson clan, he’s always felt like he has something to prove, and now that he’s finished with college, it’s his time to shine. But before he can step into the ring, a freak accident sends him to the ER and into the care of one Frankie Reeves.

While he’s immediately smitten, she pretends to be unfazed by this six-foot-three, two hundred and thirty-pound beef cake. Gunnar sets out to prove to Frankie that, not only does she like him more than she wants to admit, but he’s not the uneducated, brute she assumes he is. To Frankie, he’s the worst kind of complication, but that doesn’t make it easy to stay away.

‘Beef Cake’ is a full-length contemporary romance, can be read as a standalone, and is book #4 in the Donner Bakery series, Green Valley World, Penny Reid Book Universe.

“5- Learning to trust that you’ll catch me when I fall – Stars!”

I LOVED this book!
The story was engaging.
The writing fantastic.
The characters were interesting and likable.
I was cheering for Gunnar and Frankie right from the start!
Gunnar was perfect!
I love that he didn’t give up on Frankie.
That he was patient, kind, understanding, and gave her the room she needed to sort things out for herself, and waited for her to reach out for him when she was ready.

Frankie was one complicated, layered character.
She was compassionate, loving (in her own way), and honorable with her drive to help and heal others of their wounds.
Her wounds, however, ran deep.
I loved her story.

Reading about her journey in learning to trust, love, and forgive was a beautiful thing.

This is one of my favorite books this year!

It can be read as a standalone, so don’t fret if you haven’t read any of the other stories in the series or in Penny Reid’s Universe.

Beautiful! ❤

Synopsis

“Trust me, I’ve wanted to punch you in the face a time or five.”

When the man you worshipped as a kid becomes your coach, it’s supposed to be the greatest thing in the world. Keywords: supposed to.

It didn’t take a week for 27-year-old Sal Casillas to wonder what she’d seen in the international soccer icon – why she’d ever had his posters on her wall or ever envisioned marrying him and having super-playing soccer babies.

Sal had long ago gotten over the worst non-break-up in the history of imaginary relationships with a man who hadn’t known she’d existed. So she isn’t prepared for this version of Reiner Kulti who shows up to her team’s season: a quiet, reclusive shadow of the explosive, passionate man he’d once been

5 fantastic stars!

Let me start off by saying that I’ve read this book three times, and each and every time I read it, I’ve enjoyed it more than the previous time I’ve read it.

When I initially read this story a couple of years ago, these there the thoughts that were going through my head.

1) Wow, what an AMAZING story!
2) Why is this author not more well known?
3) Why the hell haven’t I read her work before now?

This story was so well written, and the character development was SO good that you could have sworn that these characters were real.

I loved Sal and Reiner’s characters!

Reiner is a retired soccer legend who has been hired to be the assistant coach for Sal’s women’s professional soccer team.

Sal knows who exactly Reiner is because she’s idolized him since she was a small girl. He was her favourite player. She knows ‘everything’ about his life and career, and he was her inspiration while she was training. She gives him credit for making her one of the best players in the league (possibly the world) because he motivated her to have the discipline to train and stick to a vigorous routine.
… and she’s also had a huge crush on him since she was as a child.

When Reiner finally shows up to coach, he is nothing like the man she’s put on a pedestal.
He’s crude and rude. He has no manners, and instead of sharing his wealth of experience and knowledge, he’s just indifferent with the team… which seems to be worse than anything.

When a situation arises and Sal has to help Reiner, she decides to give this incredibly pompous ass a chance.

Their relationship starts out as a very shaky friendship with lots of trials and tribulations.
It is these trials that they go through together that make this incredible journey from friendship to something more precious, and what makes this story such an amazing read.

What I loved the most about this story was that their relationship slowly built.
It was by far not easy, but then again anything worth fighting for is never easy.
.. and even though there is a 13 year age difference between the two, they are so well matched that the reader doesn’t even notice it until it is mentioned in the story.

This story is not so much about the sport of soccer, but that of two people who have a lot in common. Who find one another, like one another, and start a friendship that is solid and strong, and in the end a beautiful love for one another.

This is probably one of the best stories I’ve read.
I will definitely re-read it.

Kudos Ms Zapata for your amazing story-telling, characters, and writing of this story!
