★★★ SERIES COMPLETE ★★★

My sacrifice may destroy everything I am. Fate may require my demise. But if that happens, I will leave this realm without regret, knowing that I have loved and been loved in return.

Synopsis

Kymaris has everything she needs to bring down the veil between Earth and the Underworld. If she’s successful in completing the ritual, Earth will be darkened by evil. Demons will swarm our lands and the human race will be decimated.

It’s up to me to stop her.

My fate is to thwart the prophecy, but I’m not sure what to do. While I may have some gifts, I am still merely a human facing the queen of the Dark Fae who holds unimaginable power.

But I have something she doesn’t. Something she could never comprehend.

I have love.

Deep, abiding love which gives me the strength and courage to face down evil. Family, friends, and unexpected allies, who will stand shoulder to shoulder with me against this enemy. Should I fail, they are prepared to go down with me, but only after we have given our all.

My sacrifice may destroy everything I am. Fate may require my demise. But if that happens, I will leave this realm without regret, knowing that I have loved and been loved in return.

The Rise of Fortune and Fury by Sawyer Bennett

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“4- We’re in the endgame now- Stars!”

The Rise of Fortune and Fury is the last book in the “Chronicles of the Stone Veil” paranormal -urban-fantasy romance series.

This series was epic in the sense that Carrick and Finley’s story started hundreds of years ago, and has continued in some form right up until the present date.

You name it, this book has it.
There are gods, demi-gods, warlocks, angels, demons, and light & dark fae.
The whole premise of the story is to prevent the end of this world and Finley is the key to stopping it with Garrett’s help.
All the previous books in the series are leading up to this final battle between good and evil.

I have the say the Sawyer Bennett did a wonderful job of creating this fantastical world with all its supernatural entities and writing a really good story with amazing, likable characters.

The final battle was intense and the ending was brilliant!

A wonderful ending to a very unique and well-written series.

The Restless Cowboy by Megan Ryder

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“4- It’s never easy doing the right thing – Stars!”

Publication Date: April 27, 2021

The Restless Cowboy is the first book that I’ve read by this author and the second book in the Granite Junction series.

I was quite surprised by this book.
Even though it started out slow, when it did pick up (and it did pick up) it turned out to be a good story.

The two main characters (Cam and Molly) are involved in a short-term, casual fling.
There is definitely chemistry and a strong attraction to one another, but both know that Cam is eventually leaving town to start a new life eight hours away.
His ranch is sold, and he’s bought a new business.
He’s finally FREE to do what he wants to do with his life.

But, when the last time Cam and Molly are intimate and a surprise pregnancy is a result, the characters both have to decide how to proceed and do what’s best for themselves and the arrival of a baby.

I liked the conflict the male protagonist was facing between duty and responsibility, and I liked the strength and confidence of the female protagonist.

Both were likable characters and the story was well written.

If you’re looking for a small-town, cozy western romance, then this book might be something you might like.
